This photograph was taken of the pupils and teachers in the 1953-1954 school year at the Shepley School, Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. The Shepley School was part of the Lykens Township Schools until the mid-1950s when the one-room school houses were closed in the township and the schools merged with the schools in Gratz Borough. This is believed to be the last group of students to attend the Shepley School.
