Elura was born 10 August 1885 in Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Andrew Riegle (1841-1930) and Sarah [Radel] Riegle (1846-1923). On 1 January 1921, she married Arthur A. “Hussie” Schadel (1895-1948). She died on 18 May 1973.
Elura’s maiden name is found in various spellings, including Riegle, Reigle and Reigel. Her married name of Schadel is also found in various spellings including Shadle, Shadel and Schadle.
