Levi Umholtz Family (1)

An undated photograph of the Levi Umholtz family of Gratz, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.

Other than Levi Umboltz (front row, seated) and his wife, Anna Maria “Polly” [Radel] Umholtz (front row, seated), none of the persons in the photo are specifically identified.  The location is also not identified, although it is believed it is somewhere in Gratz.

Levi Umholtz was born on 30 August 1853, in Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, the son of John Henry Umholtz (1834-1903) and Catherine [Kocher] Umholtz.  He married Polly Radel on 3 October 1875 and with her had at least 14 known children.  Levi died on 25 November 1933 and is buried at Gratz Union Cemetery, Gratz.

It is presumed that the adults standing behind Levi and Polly are their children, although none are specifically identified.
