Harvey H. Snyder (1968-1948) – Loyalton Merchant & Former Postmaster

LOYALTON MERCHANT DIED TUESDAY

Harvey H. Snyder, Loyalton merchant, and former postmaster, died at his home at that place Tuesday morning.  He had been in ill health for some time.

Mr. Snyder was a son of James Snyder and Lydia [McColly] Snyder, and was a native of Jackson Township.  He had operated a store at Loyalton since 1914.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Brethren Church, Elizabethville; the Junior Mechanics Lodge, Ashlar Lodge, F. and A. M., Lykens, Zembo Shrine and Harrisburg Consistory.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Jennie [Miller] Snyder; one son and four daughters:  Marlin Snyder, Lykens, Mrs. Clayton Bechtel and Mrs. Floyd Harner, Loyalton; Mrs. Paul Romberger, Millersburg and Mrs. Joel Enders, Harrisburg; eight grandchildren and five grand-grandchildren.

Services will be held from the residence at 1:30 o’clock Friday afternoon with further services in Trinity Evangelical United Brethren Church, Elizabethville.  The pastor, Rev. H. S. Kiefer, and Rev. C. E. Strohl, pastor of the Loyalton Evangelical United Brethren Church will officiate and interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
