World War II – Robert J. Host – Killed in Action in France, 1944

LOSES LIFE IN FRANCE

The War Department has advised Mrs. Robert J. Host that her husband, Pvt. Robert J. Host, 23, was kllled in action in France, 27 July [1944].

Pvt. Host was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Host and was a native of Williamstown.  The young soldier, who entered the service in Novermber last year, was a graduate of the Williamstown High School, and a member of the Williamstown United Brethren Church.

Survivors are his wife, formerly Miss Mabel Howe, of Williamstown, an eighteen months old son, his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Clyde Behney and Miss Shirley Host; and three brothers, Harold Host, at home; and Jack Host and James Host, both serving with the army.
