Michael Trutt (1943-1951) – Killed in Fatal Collision

Former Town Lady In Fatal Collision

Were Enroute Home After Visiting Here; Two Persons Killed

A former Millersburg resident was seriously injured in an automobile accident which caused the death of her grandson and injuries to two other members of the family, Sunday afternoon on Route 15, north of Lewisburg.

Harod A. Trutt, 28, his two children, Michael Trutt, aged 7, and Joanna Trutt, 5, and his mother Mrs. Mabel [Spotts] Trutt, all of Watsontown, were enroute home after visiting the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Spotts, at Lenkerville.

North of Lewisburg, a car operated by Henry M. Embeck, of Montandon, skidded on the slushy highway into the path of the Trutt car.  Embeck was thrown clear of his car and died instantly of a skull fracture and broken neck.  Michael Trutt died enroute to the Lewisburg Evangelical Hospital of a skull fracture and broken neck.  Harold Trutt suffered rib fractures and a broken foot and his other daughter possible fracture of the skull. Mrs. Mabel Trutt, widow of Dewey Trutt, who died five months ago, suffered a possible elbow fracture and hip injury.  The three remain patients at the Evangelical hospital.

Mrs. Harold Trutt was at home at the time of the accident.

Services for Michael Trutt were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday and interment made in the Watsontown cemetery.
