MILLERSBURG BANKER DIED
Allen F. Gilbert, 57, of Millersburg, died Friday afternoon at the Beach Lake Hotel at the Beach Lake Hotel at Honesdale, where he was on vacation. He had been in ill health for the past year.
Mr. Gilbert was a son of the late Harry S. Gilbert and Grace [Freck] Gilbert and served for 20 years as the president of the Millersburg Trust Company, having succeed his father and grandfather, J. S. Gilbert in that post. He was a member of the school board, the Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church of Millersburg and was a past master of Susquehanna Lodge of the F. and A. M., Forest No. 125, Tall Cedars of Lebanon of Millersburg, and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, No. 59, of Millersburg. He was a past commander of Stever R. Day Post No. 326 of Millersburg.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anna C. Gilbert and a daughter, Ruth Gilbert, at home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home at 512 Market Street, Millersburg, with Rev. William H. Siegel, his pastor, officiating. Burial was in Oak HIll Cemetery, Millersburg.
