From the Harrisburg Telegraph, 19 February 1915:

MIDLAND STILL ON MARKET

The Midland Pennsylvania Railroad which was projected a few years ago to tap the Lykens Valley, but never got any further than the grading of part of the right of way, is still awaiting a buyer.  A director of the company said yesterday that unless somebody came forward before long it would be necessary to sell the property piecemeal for whatever it would bring.

From the Harrisburg Patriot, 20 February 1915:

MAY SPLIT UP MIDLAND

It may be necessary to split up the holdings of the proposed Midland Pennsylvania Railroad in order to dispose of the property, according to one of the directors.  The railroad was planned for the Lykens Valley, but is in the market after only grading has been accomplished.
