From the Harrisburg Telegraph, 2 April 1945:

Area soldiers who have lost their lived in the European Theatre of operations are:

Pvt. James A. Brauer, whose wife lives on Pottsville Street, Wiconisco….

brauerjamesa-gravemarker-001 James Augustus Brauer was born 11 August 1914 in Lykens, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, and died 30 December 1944 in Belgium.  He was killed at the Battle of the Bulge.  He is buried at Calvary United Methodist Cemetery, Wiconisco, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.  His widow was the former Esther Arlene Rowe, who was born in 1917 and died in 1998.
