Plan Inquest In Lykens Man’s Death
According to an announcement yesterday, plans are being made for an inquest in the death of David E. Snyder, 52, of Lykens.
Snyder died of a cerebral hemorrhage in the Polyclinic Hospital on Tuesday, seven hours after he was reported to have been struck by an automobile on Route 209, near Lykens. An autopsy was ordered by Dr. S. J. Roberts, Dauphin County Coroner.
State Police of the Lykens substation reported that Snyder was brushed by the right front fender of an automobile operated by J. W. Miller Jr., of Millersburg. The driver said Snyder was walking in the middle of the westbound lane of traffic and that he swerved his car sharply to avoid him. Miller told police he was blinded temporarily by the lights of an oncoming car.
A preliminary examination, it was stated, did not determine if Snyder suffered fractures or body bruises.
Belief has been expressed that the man was stricken ill while walking in the highway before the accident.
