A photograph from the 1880s of the Philadelphia and Reading railroad station at Girardville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
According to information provided with this photo, the station closed in 1951 and was subsequently dismantled. The last train operating between Shamokin and Philadelphia came through Girardville on 28 June 1963. At its peak, the station served twelve trains daily between Philadelphia and Williamsport. As of 1998, when the photo was published, the line was still serving long-distance freight.
