I knew Virgie. She was my grandfather, Ivan’s, sister. She lived at 235 Grand Ave. TC with my great-grandfather, Riley. We lived next door at 233. That was from 1951 – 1956. She baked bread and made delicious fresh fruit preserves. My father, Elbert, referred to her as a “maiden aunt” because she never married and lived all her life in that house.
