Berrysburg – Fire Threatens Foster Store, 1941

FIRE THREATENS BERRYSBURG STORE

Fire of undetermined origin completely destroyed a small building, used as a wash house, and for a time threatened the store building of Mrs. Mary E. Foster at Berrysburg early Friday evening.

The blaze was discovered about 5 p.m. and spread rapidly. Firemen from Elizabethville, Gratz, Pillow and Millersburg were summoned and fortunately kept the fire confined to the small structure.

The building contained two electric washers and garden implements, among other things, all of which were destroyed.

Mrs. Foster estimates the damages at $500.
