MRS. DANIEL BROWER DIED
DEATH WAS CAUSED BY SUDDEN ATTACK OF HEART FAILURE
WAS AGED OVER 68 YEARS
Mrs. Amanda Brower,the beloved wife of Daniel Brower, died suddenly at her home two miles east of Herndon, on Friday morning at 8:30 o’clock from the effects of heart failure. She had been in ill health during the past two weeks, suffering with an attack of lagrippe, but she had recuperated from the attack and was able to be up and about.
Mrs. Amanda Brower, a daughter of Eli Swab and Nellie [Cooper] Swab, was born at Elizabethville, Dauphin County, on November 22nd, 1957. On December 31st 1876, she was united in marriage to Daniel Brower, this union was blessed with five daughters. Had she lived until the end of this year, she and Mr. Brower would have celebrated their 50th anniversary of wedded life.
She is survived by her husband and the following daughters, Alice Brower, Katie Brower, and Mrs. Jacob Shaffer, at home; Mrs. Sallie Williard and Mrs. Mabel Kobel, of Herndon. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, one brother, George Swab, of Harrisburg; one sister, Mrs. Mary Shuntz, of Pennsburg, and a host of friends, who are deeply grieved to learn of her departure.
Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday) from the late home at 12:30 p.m., after which the funeral cortege will move to the Lutheran and Reformed Church at this place, where further services will be conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. W. Kramlich. Interment will be made in Maple Grove Cemetery at Elizabethville. Undertaker Charles Rothermel has charge of the remains.
