W. ARTHUR HESS
W. Arthur Hess, age 80 years, was found dead in his home in Gratz Tuesday morning. His death was ascribed to a heart attack.
Mr. Hess was a son of the late Charles Hess and Clara [Loeb] Hess, and was born in Lykens Township, June 23, 1877. He was a member of Simeon’s Reformed Church, Gratz, the Gratz Fire Company, and a director of the Gratz Water Supply Company. He had also taken an interest in the Gratz Fair Association for many years.
His wife, the former Cora Coleman, preceded him in death twelve years ago.
He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held from the Marlin S. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, at 2:00 o’clock Saturday afternoon. His pastor, Rev. Earl R. Marks, will officiate, and interment will be in the Gratz Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 o’clock.
