Funeral Service Monday for A. W. Hoke
Arthur W. Hoke, age 61 years, well-known resident of Elizabethville, died at his home, West Broad Street, town, Friday morning.
Mr. Hoke was a son of the late James Hoke and Mary [Matter] Hoke and was a lifelong resident of town. He was a plasterer by trade and had engaged in that business with his father, for many years. Mr. Hoke had been superintendent of Maple Grove Cemetery the past ten years, and was a member of the Reliance Hose Company, of Elizabethville.
His wife, Mrs. Emma [Mattis] Hoke, preceded him in death a number of years ago.
Survivors are two sisters and three brothers: Lily, Mrs. Samuel Lupold, Miss Mable Hoke, and Harry F. Hoke, all of Elizabethville; Wilmer Hoke, of Sunbury, and Clair Hoke, of Washington, D.C.
Funeral services were held from the Buffington Funeral Home at 2:00 o’clock Monday afternoon. Rev. Marlin Enders, pastor of the Grace Lutheran Church, Shamokin, officiated, and interment was made in Maple Grove Cemetery.
