SELECT NAME FOR AIRPORT
MILLERSBURG, November 22 [1929] – Robinson Field, the name selected for the Millersburg Airport by Marion Gilbert, was chosen in memory of F. A. Robinson, of Redwood, California, who was killed September 27, 1920, when the mail plane he was piloting struck the telephone cables over the Susquehanna River, a mile south of Millersburg.
With the help of his grandfather Dr. Marion Ulrich, Gilbert finally decided on this name for Millersburg‘s airport. The field is being cleared and leveled. Work was started on the hangar last week by Howard Helwig, local contractor. The building will be of galvanized iron sheeting and will be large enough to house several planes. An office and workshop will also be provided.
