Loyalton – Stone Hill School, 1886

A 1957 newspaper photo of the Stone Hill School, class of the 1886-1887 school year, Loyalton, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, USA.

The photo accompanied an article telling of the 60th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Good and gave some background about how they met as well as giving the names of the pupils in the photo.

Do You Remember ‘way Back When…

Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Good, Loyalton, will have many pleasant memories stirred by the accompanying picture of the pupils in the Stone Hill School, Loyalton, in the 1886-1887 term.

Good, teacher of the class, is pictured in the center of the rear row while Mrs. Good, the former Agnes Klinger, stands at his right.  She was one of his pupils.

The Goods were married five years after the picture was taken, in 1892, and will observe their 60th wedding anniversary February 28.  They have lived all their lives in Loyalton.

Good will be 87 years olf February 9 while his wife observed her 79th birthday January 11.  Their son, Roy D. Good, lives ar 2037 Chestnut Street.  The picture was submitted by William J. Ginter, 2244 Kensington Street, who is pictured fourth from left in the third row.
