John Hoffman Farm, 1875

A recent photograph of the farm of 60 acres that in 1875 belonged to John Hoffman, Specktown, Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.

The farm was created from four separate tracts and had its origin in the land that was granted to the Philip Umholtz family but the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

On 11 April 1908, the farm was purchased by Samuel J. Sitlinger from J. Frank Boyer and his wife Amelia Boyer. It remained in the Sitlinger family until 1989 when the heirs of the estate sold it.

A recent photo of the barn on the same property.  The date of construction of this barn is not known.

The location of the 60 acre John Hoffman farm is marked on the southwest quadrant of the Lykens Township map shown above.
