Rev. Stanley C. Baker – Reformed Minister of the Lykens Valley

Rev. Stankey C. Baker served as minister of David’s Church, Killinger, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, from 1925 to 1931.

Stanley C. Baker was born January 8, 1893, at Porter’s Sideling, York County, Pennsylvania. After completing country school, he entered the York Collegiate Institute, and the York County Academy. He taught school for one year. He was graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in 1917, and from the Lancaster Theological Seminary in 1920.

He and Miss Elma Christ, of Spring Grove, York County, were married July 11, 1920. The union was blessed with the birth of four children: Stanley Baker; Virginia Baker; Glenn Baker; and Sterling Baker.

During his life time he served the following charges: Zinn’s, Newburg, Cumberland County; Timberville Charge, Virginia; St. David’s [Killinger]; and the Paradise Charge, Troutville, Clearfield County. His stay in Troutville was very brief, for he was called to life triumphant, February 25, 1943. His wife and children are now [1950] residing on West Moore Street, Millersburg. This information and his picture was obtained from them.
