Elias Samuel Williard (1839-1905)

An undated portrait of Elias Samuel Williard, who was born 9 October 1939, Lykens Township, Dauphin Co., Pennsylvania.

He was a Civil War veteran who served in the 192nd Pennsylvania Infantry, Company H, as a Private, from 21 February 1865 to 24 August 1865.

He married Justina Ann “Chestiann” Rickert (1841-1892) and with her had at least five known children.

During his lifetime, he lived primarily in Mifflin Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania and Hegins Township, Schuylkill County, and worked as a farmer and as an agent.

He died on 6 March 1905 and is buried in Frieden’s Union Cemetery in Hegins Township.
