Lykens – Manhattan Supply Company, 1908

MANHATTAN SUPPLY COMPANY

Walter E. Freer, Proprietor

While the pure food laws have to some extent done away with adulteration, there still remains some danger of imposition, even dealers themselves being deceived, so that in buying absolutely pure supplies, one must be exceedingly careful. Particularly in this time of teas and coffees, the average grocer being at the jobber and manufacturer, owing to a lack of technical knowledge of these goods. Thus it can be readily seen that a great advantage is to gained from buying of a dealer who makes these a specialty. Mr. Freer, who established the Manhattan Supply Store here four years ago has devoted years of study in these lines, and the teas and coffees sold at the Manhattan are the purest to be found in the world, rich in aroma, delightful to the taste. A complete line of teas, coffees, spices, extracts and baking products are kept in stock. Not only are they the best and purest obtainable and sold at the lowest prices consistent with high grade qualities, but each purchaser stands a chance of winning one or more of the splendid prizes offered as premiums for using the Manhattan supplies. Prior to opening this store, Mr. Freer was engaged in the same line of business in New York. He is a young man of much energy and thorough reliability and has developed a large and constantly increasing patronage solely through the merits of his supplies.
