HILDA C. HERB
Hilda C Herb, age 99, formerly of Valley View, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Providence Place, Pine Grove.
She was born on Tuesday, February 13, 1923, in Elizabethville, a daughter of the late Henry Huntzinger and the late Meda (Umholtz) Huntzinger.
She was a graduate of the former Hegins Township High School.
Hilda was a seamstress in area garment factories, prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the Church of God, Valley View.
Her husband, Dallas Herb, passed away in 1994.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her step father, Jay Lahr; three sons Ted Herb, Eugene “Pete” Herb, and James Herb, and by a brother, Carl Huntzinger.
She is survived by three daughters, Ann L. Geist of Hummelstown, Betty Erdman and her husband Jim Erdman of Enola, and Karen Umholtz of Enola; thirteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service was held Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 11:30am at the Valley View Church of God, 900 W Main Street, Valley View, Pennsylvania, with Rev. Gerald Frey officiating. Visitation and lunch was in the church social hall following the service. Private family burial was held prior to the service at Union Cemetery,
Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Inc., Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
