Millersburg – Man Drops Dead During Breakfast at Hotel, 1915

Brief articles that appeared in Harrisburg newspapers on March 8, 1915, and the Lykens Standard, told of the sudden death of Cornelius Fralick, a 64 year old Millersburg resident and retired hotel operator, while he was having his breakfast at the Hotel Koppenhaver at the central square in Millersburg.

Millersburg Citizen Died Suddenly While Conversing With Friends

Millersburg, March 8 [1915] — While speaking to a number of friends in the Hotel Koppenhaver late Saturday night, Cornelius Fralick, 64 years of age, a retired hotel man, fell to the floor and died almost instantly.

Mr. Fralick was well known here, having conducted a hotel in the borough twenty years ago.  Since his retirement he had won quite a reputation as a fisherman.  He is survived by a widow, one son and one daughter.

Millersburg, Pennsylvania, March 8 [1915] — Cornelius W. Fralick died suddenly of heart failure while sitting at the table eating his morning meal at the Hotel Koppenhaver on Saturday.  He was apparently in his usual health when the fatal attack occurred.  He is survived by a son, John D. Fralick, of Harrisburg and a married daughter living in Philadelphia, also two brothers, Alfred Fralick, of Luzerne, and Frank Fralick, of this place, and two sisters, Miss Sue Fralick and Mrs. Sarah Noll, of Moore Street, Millersburg.  The funeral will take place from Mrs. Noll’s home on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock.  Tahoe Tribe of Red Men will have charge of the funeral.  He was 64 years old.
