The above philatelic cover was created using a prepared envelope with a cachet by Art Craft. The envelope was post marked (hand canceled) at the Elizabethville Post, Elizabethville, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. While there are several other towns or cities in the United States that have “Elizabeth” in their name, there is only one Elizabethville.
There was no indication in the Elizabethville Echo of November 1947 that this item was created by a local or area stamp club, or by the post office at Elizabethville. It could have been created by anyone anywhere in the world who mailed the prepared/uncanceled envelopes to the Elizabethville postmaster with the request that they be postmarked the day of the wedding.
