FATAL INJURY TO AARON H. OTTO
A very sad accident occurred on the farm of Harry Otto, Hegins, on Saturday evening, July 12 [1924], when his father, Mr. Aaron H. Otto was struck in the abdomen by the tongue of a wagon, which caused his death on the following day.
Mr. Otto was attempting to move a hay wagon from the barn floor with one horse hitched, when the horse suddenly gave a lurch, throwing the tongue against Mr. Otto with such force that he was injured internally.
Mr. Otto did from the effects of this injury on Sunday evening, July 13 [1924]. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Russell D. Custer, were held from his late home, and in Christ Church, Fountain, of which church he was a faithful member, on Thursday, July 17 [1924]. Mr. Otto [was]… highly respected. His sudden death came as a shock. His age was 77 years, 9 months, 29 days. His is survived by one brother, William Otto, of Pottsville, two sons, Calvin Otto, of Hegins, and Harry Otto, at home; and two grandsons.
