Millersburg Lineman Electrocuted Near Herndon, 1925

LIVE WIRE KILLS MAN AT HERNDON

Herndon, May 4 [1925] — Ernest Harner, residing in South Race Street, Millersburg, an employee of the Juniata Public Service Company, was killed instantly on Saturday while working at a transformer on a pole here, 6000 volts passing thru his body. Barner’s body was taken from the pole by William Tschopp, a fellow workman and sent to Liverpool, his former home, where his wife was visiting at the time of the acciedent.

Barner was about 30 years old, the father of six children, four of whom survive. The funeral services and burial will be held at Liverpool on Wednesday.
