World War II – Robert A. Miller – Missing in Action

LYKENS AIRMAN REPORTED MISSING

Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Miller of Lykens have been advised by the War Department that their son, Staff Sergeant Robert A. Miller, U. S. Army Air Forces, has been reported missing in action in Europe.

The message stated that Sgt. Miller had failed to return from a flight over the continent on 16 December 1943.

Sgt. Miller entered the army in October 1942 and attended gunnery school at Tyndall Field, Florida, and also received training at Lowery Field, Colorado, and Spokane, Washington.

He had been assigned to a base in England.
