Samuel H. Miller (1876-1945)

SAMUEL H. MILLER

Samuel H. Miller, age 69 years, widely known merchant, of Wiconisco, died in the Geisinger Memorial Hospital, Danville, 9 October 1945, following an operation.  He had been in ill health for some time.

Mr. miller was a native of Wisconsin, and was a son of the late Samuel Miller and Rebecca [Mann] Miller.  He engaged in the merchandising business forty-five years.

He was a member of the Wiconisco School Board twelve years, and in 1928 was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and was reelected in 1930.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Jennie [Maurer] Miller, formerly of Steelton, and the following children:  Pvt. William C. Miller, of the Marine Corps, and T/5 Vernon Miller of the Army, both stationed in the Pacific area; T/Sgt. George M. Miller, of the Marine Corps, North Carolina; S/Sgt Robert L. Miller, of the Army Air Corps, Westhampton Beach, New York; and Miss Mary L. Miller, at home.  Four grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held from the residence at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon.  Rev. Martin Brinton, of Hatboro, and Rev. W. A. Pahls, pastor of the Wiconisco Methodist Church officiated.  Interment was made in the Wiconisco Cemetery.
