Absalom Gottshall was born 7 October 1837 and died on 4 October 1917. He spent his early years in Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Adam H. Gottshall (1813-1889). On 22 January 1860 he married Isabella Coleman who was born 5 Jul 1838 and died 23 February 1917. Both are buried in Pine Grove, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
