Factory Owner Treats Employees to Caribbean Vacation, 1967

A photograph of the group of employees of William T. Harrison, owner of Mason Wear, a garment factory located in Tower City, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. The photo was published in the Pottsville Republican, December 20, 1967, along with the following caption:

BOSS TAKES PLANT WORKERS ON CARIBBEAN TOUR

Seventy employees of Mason Wear Inc., Tower City, who took a nine-day Caribbean holiday at the expense of their boss the second week in December, are still talking about their leisure fun and sun filled cruise.  Employer William T. Harrison, in center, foreground, is seen handing tickets for the trip to Mrs. John Shutt of Orwin.  Harrison said the trip was reward for tired owner and employees after 15 years continuous operation.

Two years later, an article appeared in the Pottsville Republican, December 3, 1969, touting a second trip Harrison gave his employees:

122 AT MASON GOING TO JAMAICA

MUIR — William Harrison, president of Mason Wear, Inc., will take 122 employees and their families on an expense -paid trip to Jamaica.

The group leaves Saturday on a chartered flight from Olmstead Air Force Base and will spend a week at the Jamaica Hilton Hotel.

Two years ago Harrison took his employees on a 10-day cruise to the Caribbean.
