GRATZ FAIR HAS BIG CROWD OPENING DAY
Aeroplane Has Been Engaged For Flights Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

Gratz, Pennsylvania, September 16 [1913] — The first day of the Gratz Fair opened with prospects of record breaking attendance. Word was received this morning that an expert aviator with an aeroplane is on his way here and there will be flights Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The midway this year will be bigger and better than ever and the free exhibition will be given by six acrobats. The poultry exhibit will be the largest in years.
Entries for the races were completed at noon and there will be a total of twenty-three horses, many of them with fast records, entered for the three days’ meet.
