Anna Margaret [Kinder] Beidenmiller Dressel (1828-1902)

MRS. IGNATZ DERSSEL

Mrs. Ignatz Dressel of North Second Street, died on Sunday of heart trouble and old age, after an illness of about four weeks, aged 74 years and 2 days. The funeral was held on Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock, her former pastor, Rev. H. E. C. Wahrman of Turbotville, conducted the services, after which interment took place in Odd Fellows’ Cemetery.

The floral offerings consisted of a pillow from her children; sheaf of wheat from grandchildren; cut flowers from Mrs. H. E. Henery and Mrs. J. H. Spangler; cut flowers from the funeral of John C. Beidenmiller of Pittsburgh, which was held on Sunday.

The pallbearers were Jere Smith, Amos Kuntzelman, Josiah Minnich, Rev. L. D. Steckel, Jacob Alvord, Joseph Buchanan.

Deceased was the daughter of John Kinder and wife of Wittenberg, Germany, and was born on the 17th day of April, 1828. In the year 1854, she left her native country and came to America, locating at Tremont, and in October of the same year married John Casper Beidenmiller. Unto this union four children were born, viz: Kate Beidenmiller (Mrs. J. B. McCoy), Mary Beidenmiller; John Beidenmiller; and George Beidenmiller.

Mr. Beidenmiller having died she married Ignatz Dressel on February 4th, 1864, and the fruits of this union were five children, viz: Annie Dressel (Mrs. Joseph Reinoehl), Caroline Dressel (Mrs. Thomas Pell), Lizzie Dressel (Mrs. Oscar Messersmith; William H. Dressel, and Charles F. Dressel. She is survived by her husband, 7 children, 26 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Deseased was a consistent member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, a faithful wife, a kind and loving mother, and a good neighbor, and her death is sadly lamented in this community, of which she was an honored resident.

Those from out of town attending the funeral were Mrs. H. F. Braeuer of Dietrich; John Messersmith and wife of Williamstown; Mrs. John Dilfied of Tremont; J. B. McCoy and wife of Fisherville; Henry Whitt, Josiah Romberger, John Romberger, and wife, Shamokin; George J. Beidenmiler, Halifax.
