St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, near Berrysburg, popularly known as “The Hill Church” will be the scene of great festivities Sunday July 13th, when the congregation celebrates the 150th year of its founding.

Dr. E. P. Pfatteicher, President of the Ministerium of Pennsylvania will preach the anniversary sermon at the morning service. The afternoon service at 2:30 o’clock will be devoted to neighboring pastors and sons of the congregation. The Millersburg Boys’ Navy Band will be present during the afternoon. Rev. Russell D. Snyder, a son of the congregation and present Philadelphia pastor will deliver the sermon at the evening services. Several former pastors will also be present at this service.

A community choir under the direction of Mr. Percy A. Swab of Elizabethville will render music for all of these services and a cordial invitation is extended to all to take part.

Continued in Part 2.
