Catherine [Schmeltz] Hoover (1835-1920)

An undated portrait of Catherine “Kitty” [Schmeltz] Hoover, born 28 November 1835, Hubley Township, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Adam Schmeltz and Catherine [Holdeman] Schmeltz.  In 1857, she married Josiah Edmund Hoover (1828-1923), a farmer of Specktown, Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania..  Kitty died on 6 December 1920, and is buried at St. Peter (Hoffman) Cemetery in Lykens Township.

The obituary appeared in a local newspaper at the time of her death.
