Daniel Bonawitz (1805-1886)

An undated a portrait of Daniel Bonawitz (1805-1886).  He was the son of George Michael Bonawitz (1774-1872) and Elizabeth [Matter] Bonawitz (1787-1850), who moved to an area north of the present Berrysburg, Dauphin County about 1801, in what was then Upper Paxton Township.

Daniel David Bonawitz is my 2nd great grandfather. His father is George Michael (1774) and according to the Book of Bonawitz the children of George were with his first wife Maria Catharina Koppenhofer. The Koppenhofer’s settled near the Bonawitz land north of Berrysburg. I welcome any other relatives to contact me about this.
