David Charles Bowerman was born in Gratz, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, on 23 June 1930, the son of Charles Clayton Bowerman (1906-1982) and Virginia Ann [Kissinger] Bowerman (1903-1984). Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Williamstown, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, so both communities can claim him as a professional baseball player.
Dave Bowerman played one season, 1951, for a Level D affiliate of the New York Yankees and had a .248 batting average. It is not known as of this writing why he did not continue in baseball.
He died on 14 October 1911 in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut.
