Disappearance of Tracy Kroh – An Unsolved Crime from 1989

On 5 August 1989, Tracy Kroh, a 17-year-old honor student at Halifax Area High School, left her home at Enterline, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, to deliver some items to her sister who lived north of Halifax, Dauphin County.  She was never seen again.  Her locked car was found in the town square at Millersburg, several miles north of her sister’s home.

Tracy Maria Kroh was born 15 April 1972, the daughter of Ivan Lincoln Kroh (1940-2006) and Ellen R. Kroh.  The family lived in Enterline, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, near Halifax.  Tracy had two older sisters, both of whom were married in 1989 and living elsewhere in the area.

Tracy Kroh has now been missing for nearly 30 years.  Throughout that time, news articles have appeared that reported leads in the investigation about her disappearance.  And, while many people have been interviewed and many leads were given to authorities, no one has ever been arrested and charged.  Tracy has not been found, leading many to believe that she was the victim of foul play.

Today’s post is a “table of contents” of a series of 12 previous posts, each of which presents a newspaper article or articles from the period 1989 though 2014.  The articles were obtained through Newspapers.com where neither Harrisburg nor Millersburg papers were available at the time of this this writing.  If any reader can provide any news articles which provide additional information, they will be considered for posting here.

This case will never be solved. Everyone is fooling the taxpayers about this. Why would someone wait 20 years before going to police to say they were almost abducted at the same place? Several years ago the Harrisburg news stations broke that state police had a “working idea” of what happened and a suspect was sitting in a holding cell, but the next day after the news cast, state police released the person because “no one came forward with information.” We found Eric Frien 40 days after he did his act and he was hiding in dense woods, but I guess when the life of a taxpayer’s daughter is at stake, we “cannot find the prep.” This is hog wash.

If they have these suspects and all this new evidence, why are they not arresting anyone? Why are they wasting time? Who ever did this crime needs to be sitting in a jail cell.

I don’t think they have evidence. They’ve probably been given an idea where to look is most likely. Very sad she hasn’t been found yet. Hopefully she will be. But they seem to not have much to go on. Maybe they should go back and speak to everyone who knew her and see if stories change.

With the new information and one person in prison, I hope they find the rest of the men that had a hand in that evening. Tracy was not even through school and her life cut way short because of these nitwits. I hope everyone pays dearly.
