First Two Children of Harrison Riegle & Hannah [Rickert] Riegle, 1873

Separate photographs of the first two surviving children of Harrison Riegle (1840-1899) and Hannah [Rickert] Riegle (1847-1919) of Specktown, Lykens Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.  On the left is Chauncey A. Riegle (1870-1936) and on the right is Elizabeth Catherine “Lizzie” Riegle (1872-1942).  Prior to the birth of Chauncey, Hannah gave birth to three children who died in infancy and who are buried at the St. Peter’s (Hoffman’s) Church Cemetery in Lykens Township.  The photos were taken about 1873 by an unknown photographer.

The photos were saved by the mother, Hannah [Rickert] Riegle in a box of keepsakes that was found in the attic when the family was preparing the homestead for sale.
