Frank A. Bellows (1883-1951) – Engineer with Millersburg Connection

FRANK A. BELLOWS

Frank A. Bellows, a retired mechanical engineer, died Monday at his home, Netherfield Farm, Baldwinsville, New York.  He was 67 years old.

Mr. Bellows was descended from John Bellows, who came from England to Boston on the Harperwell in 1685.  He was also a descendant of Col. Joseph Holbrook, an original member of the Order of Cincinnati, who served on Washington’s staff in the Revolutionary War.

Mr. Bellows was a graduate of Iowa Engineering College and during World War I and II worked on experimental designs for guns.  He was also employed for many years by the H. H. Franklin Automobile Company in its experimental laboratory and for a few years by the Brubaker Tap and Die Company, of Millersburg.

He was married 26 September 1915, to Ruth Kieffer, a native of Millersburg and a daughter of the late Mrs. Abbie O. Kieffer.  He is survived by his wife and three sons and two daughters:  Charles Franklin Bellows, of Shippensburg; Henry Linn Bellows, of Baldwinsville, New York; and Frederick Benson Bellow, Abbie Eleanor Bellows, and Julia Ann Bellows, at home.

Services and interment this Thursday at 2 p.m. at Baldwinsville.
