Grace I. [Lenker] Warfel (1922-2022) – Centenarian

GRACE I. WARFEL

MILLERSBURG – Grace Irene Warfel, age 100, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, at the Northern Dauphin Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born on April 16, 1922 in Millersburg, the daughter of [the late] Charles Lenker and Cora [Bonawitz] Lenker.

Grace was the widow of Sherwood Warfel. They celebrated 62 years together.

She had worked in the past for the former Muskin Shoe Company and former Seal Glove Factory.

She was a lifetime member and choir member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Rife. She was very active with the church bible study group. She had a deep love for the Lord. Grace enjoyed puzzles, knitting, crocheting, making crafts, reading, playing organ, gardening and being with her church family and people in general. She was regularly seen in Millersburg on her walk around town.

Surviving are her two sons, Larry E. Warfel, husband of Carol Warfel of Bel Air, Maryland, and Daniel L. Warfel, husband of Mary Lou Warfel of Lewistown, Pennsylvania; ; four grandsons… 5 Great Grandchildren… and 2 Great Great Grandchildren…. The family thanked all the caregivers at Northern Dauphin Nursing and Rehab, especially Crystal Whitman.

There was a visitation held at her church on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 10-11 AM. Services started at 11 A. M. with Rev. Godfred Effasah officiating. Entombment followed the services at the Oak Hill Cemetery Mausoleum….

Arrangements were cared for by the staff of Minnich Funeral.
