Gratz – Abe Gross’ Store Robbed, 1906

From the Lykens Standard, June 22, 1906:

ROBBERY AT GRATZ

The store of A. Gross, located on the first floor of the Odd Fellows’ Hall at Gratz, was robbed Thursday night of goods to the value of several hundred dollars.  Among the articles taken were 24 of the finest suits of clothes in the establishment, 11 new watches and two left with him to be sent away for repairs, besides all the ladies’ and gents’ rings.  Entrance to the building was effected through a side basement window, after which the robbers forced the door at the head of the stairway which admitted them to the large storeroom.  Detectives have been put on the case, but as yet there is no clue to the robbers.
