Gratz – Adams Ford, 1920s

An early 1920s photograph of the construction at the site of Adams Ford in Gratz, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.  This business was located on the south side of East Market Street and was owned by George Adams from 1917-1946 and was the only Ford franchised dealership in Gratz.  From 1946-1979, it was operated by his nephew Irvin Adams.  In 1988, when this historical photo appeared in the newspaper, the business was known as Adams Sales and Service, and, in addition to autos was a wholesale food outlet.
