Gratz Bicentennial Mural – Overview

On May 30, 2005, a 75-foot wall mural entitled “A Walk Through History” was dedicated in the Community Building in Gratz, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, commemorating 200 years of Gratz history and recognizing the people from the past and present who together have made Gratz “a place to call home.” A small portion of the mural is pictured above.

The mural featured twenty-nine landmarks, several portraits, and the “Great Seal of the Borough of Gratz.”

Subsequent blog posts will further describe some of the landmarks and identify some of the individuals pictured.

The volunteer artists who painted the mural were Ann Bonwit; Ruth Ann Klinger; Dawn [Hoffman] Buss; and Robert “Bob” Miller.
