Gratz – Smith Hall Entertainment

A series of three undated photographs said to be of a play or plays at Smith Hall, Gratz, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.  Note the advertisements and flags in the upper part of each photograph.  The ads are for businesses in Elizabethville, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.  A photo post card of a clown with similar advertisements was said to be from the Lykens Opera House.

Smith Hall, owned by Harry Smith, was located at the southeast corner of South Street and Center Street in Gratz and was one of the buildings destroyed in the Gratz fire of 1924.

Plays were also staged at the I. O. O. F. Building in Gratz.

Photograph #1 is above.
