Gratz – Thomas C. Lower Memorial, 1994

A photograph taken in 2010 of the plaque placed in honor of Thomas C. Lower at the Gratz Baseball Field, Gratz, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.

The plaque reads:

This tree was planted in memory of Thomas C. Lower

on June 30, 1974

The obituary for Thomas C. Lower appeared in the Pottsville Republican on May 16, 1992:

Thomas C. Lower, 13, of East Main Street, Berrysburg, died Thursday from injuries suffered from a traffic accident in Loyalton. 

Born in Harrisburg, he was a son of Stephen Lower and Patti [Uhler] Lower, at home.

He was a seventh-grade student at Upper Dauphin Area Middle School, where he was a member of the wrestling team.  He was also on the Gratz teener baseball team.

Surviving in addition to his parents, are two brothers, Dennis L. Lower and Michael E. Lower, both at home; paternal grandmother and paternal step-grandfather, Mae Kessler and Russell Kessler, Millersburg; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Uhler, Millersburg; paternal great-grandmother, Edna Lower, Berrysburg.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Peace United Church of Christ, Berrysburg.  There will be no viewing Sunday night.  Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.  Hoover Funeral Homes, Elizabethville. is in charge of arrangements.
