This hotel was built in 1889 and opened in September of that year. It originally was a two-story building with a wrap-around porch and its first proprietor was George Fetterhoff. Later, in a remodeling, a third story was added to the main part of the building and the wrap-around porch removed.
The man standing in front of the hotel is not identified.
