Harry Edwin Buffington (1867-1938)

HARRY EDWIN BUFFINGTON – ATTORNEY – BORO SOLICITOR – BURIED WEDNESDAY

Funeral services for Attorney H. E.  Buffington, Lykens, who died at his residence in North Second Street on Saturday, 3 December 1938, at 11 P.M., death having followed a one week’s illness of paralysis, were held from the home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. A. Marland Shoemaker, pastor of the Grace M. E. Church, Lykens, officiated and burial was made in the P. O. S. of A. Cemetery.

Mr. Buffington was born in Lykens, 2 May 1867 and was the son of the late George Buffington and Suzanne Buffington.  He was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Wilson who with one daughter, Miss Myra Buffington, at home survives.

Mr. Buffington was prominently known in Lykens and vicinity having been active for many years in the fraternal circles of the P. O. S. of A in this section as well as the State organization.  He practiced law in the Dauphin County Courts for forty-two years and was a member of the Dauphin County Bar Association.  At the time of his death he acted in the capacity of solicitor of Lykens Borough and was prominently connected with many civic endeavors.  He was also a member of Grace M. E. Church.
