Kellen Robert Kulbacki was born November 21, 1985 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Hershey High School, Hershey, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. He played college baseball at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and was drafted in the first round of the 2007 June Amateur Draft by the San Diego Padres of the National League. He played both right field and left field.
From 2007 through 2010, Kulbacki played for minor league affiliates of the Padres in Oregon, California, Indiana and Texas, In 2011 and 2012 he played in an Ohio independent team in the Frontier League, the Lake Erie Crushers.
In 2017 he was inducted into the Capital Area (Pennsylvania) Sports Hall of Fame.
