“Kingfish” of Amos ‘n Andy at Spring Glen Church, 1970

The following article appeared in the Lykens Standard, April 16, 1970:

SPECIAL SERVICES AT SPRING GLEN

The Rev. Jimmy Willis, the original “Kingfish” of the Amos ‘n Andy radio program, will be holding revival services in the Spring Glen Assembly of God Church, beginning Tuesday evening, April 21 [1970] at 7:30.

After rejecting God’s call to the ministry for many years and becoming totally incapacitated for five years, Jimmy was converted and miraculously healed.   He has neither a voice box or vocal chords, yet can sing and speak.

The pastor, Rev. Guy T. Watts, invites the public to hear Jimmy’s spirit anointed singing and ministry.
